Master’s student in Educational Technology at UFC wins award in Fortaleza Department of Education competition
Published at: October 23, 2025 Category: NewsAlex Rodrigues de Guimarães, a student in the Graduate Program in Educational Technology at the Federal University of Ceará (GPET/UFC), was awarded a grant in the Call for Proposals for Good Practices (No. 01/2024 SME), promoted by the Fortaleza Municipal Department of Education (SME).
The project entitled “The Use of the Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) as a Tool for the Development of Meaningful Learning” was developed by Alex and will be implemented at the Professora Maria Antonezia Meireles e Sá Municipal School. The initiative, which is part of the Mathematics area, was one of 270 projects selected, receiving R$3,000.00 in funding for its implementation.
The Call for Proposals, promoted by the SME, aims to recognize and subsidize innovative pedagogical practices, encouraging projects that use technology, promote meaningful learning, and improve the quality of municipal public education. Alex Guimarães’s proposal reflects the principles of the PPGTE, standing out for its use of emerging technologies such as the Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) to enhance
teaching and learning.
